Meet The Rocksolve Team

Specialist geologists and technologists, passionate about their work, passionate about problem solving, passionate about delivering solutions.

Gideon Giwa

Chief Executive Officer

Experienced petroleum geologist with an impressive back catalogue of project management at senior level for Royal Dutch Shell, Gideon identified a growing need for specific digital geological tools along with the potential of reaching out (on and off line) to non-geologists working in the exploration and development industry.

After setting up Rocksolve International Limited, Gideon was invited to share his motivation to the team at NAPE (Nigerian Association of Petroleum Explorationists) with a Youth Programme discussion in 2015.

As CEO for Rocksolve, Gideon is responsible for developing the company and managing a team of highly-skilled experts in supplying training, consultancy and digital geological tools to government agencies, universities and key energy industry workers around the globe.

When not working, Gideon can always be found on the golf course.

Chris Brown

Chief Technology Officer

Responsible for IT infrastructure, computer resources and software development, Chris comes to Rocksolve with a wealth of digital wisdom.

Chris graduated in Chemistry from the University of Bristol then promptly embarked on a career in software engineering for corporate giants such as British Airways, Lotus/IBM and Dell. He is responsible for translating the architecture of geological insight from the team at Rocksolve into mobile responsive technology.

Professionally qualified in business management with an MBA from Ashridge and with a recently gained PGCE, Chris has a perfect perspective on translating business problems into technological solutions.

You will not find Chris on a golf course.

Away from the office, Theo gives his spare time to the Nigerian Conservation Foundation (if not playing golf with Gideon following UK office meetings)

Tom Pakenham-Walsh

Project Development Geologist

Equipped with an excellent degree in Geology from Durham University and a further Master’s Degree in Integrated Petroleum Geoscience, Tom joined Rocksolve at the beginning of 2016.

Working with subsurface experts in the rock and minerals industry has given Tom an expectation of future goals for geologists of today. And being technically competent on platforms other than oil rigs ideally places Tom as the one to build a solid social foundation for the Rocksolve multi-media channels.

Out of work, Tom goes hills walking in The Chilterns. He is waiting for Gideon to invite him for a game of golf.
